The battle against the Overmind over, Johnny goes to the Great Refuge to see Crystal. Attacked on arrival, he learns that Crystal never returned, and that Maximus the Mad has once more gained control of his race. Ignoring Maximus for now, he heads out once more to get the help of Agatha Harkness in locating Crystal.
