A mysterious wave of sounds has been damaging or destroying buildings across the country. The Avengers assemble to investigate, and learn that the source of the danger is a living rock, found by the lava men and being pushed up to the surface. The only thing more dangerous than failing to destroy the rock is succeeding: the explosion it will dole out can destroy half the planet in one shot.
